Marriage Minutes

Marriage Minutes by Gerald Ford.

This book is for the woman and the man who don’t want their marriage to “fit the mold.” Rather, they want their marriage to fit them, whom they are, and whom they are becoming. They don’t relate to the jokes about stereotypes in marriage, because they aren’t stereotypical. They don’t want the ordinary marriage. They want a marriage in which kindness and love are strengths, and deep friendship, commitment, and freedom to share good things are abundant. This book offers a Biblical alternative to traditionalism- a loving marriage within a living faith, in a relationship with the living Christ. In 200 short articles, the author, Gerald Ford, shares a look at what a Collaborative Marriage looks like, on the inside and the outside.

Women Equal

Women Equal-No Buts. Powered by the same Source by Shirley Taylor.

From the blog to the book, with humor and righteous outrage, this book gives you a look at leadership roles for today’s Christian women. Women are told they are equal-but they have different functions. That theology is not found in the Bible, but it determines the roles women are allowed in church, and even extends inside their own homes. We know women have different functions, but whether or not they lift the lid is not a spiritual function, and should not be the criteria for leadership roles.

The church, which should have been the first to recognize women’s equality, has proven to be the last holdout against women. Women are beginning to question this theology. This book gives insight to what pastors are saying about women and what they are preaching on Sunday morning. It calls them to account for their teaching. It also calls women to account for neglecting their responsibility to themselves, and to their daughters, and to other women. You will be challenged to get off your equal-but and speak up and do something. will be challenged to take their place alongside women, not in front of women.

Dethroning Male Headship by Shirley Taylor

Dethroning Male Headship is a call to action. It lays the biblical foundation for female equality, exposes the myth of biblical manhood and womanhood, and dives headlong into male leadership teaching.  Finally, the book leads readers to understand why they must, and how they can, dethrone male headship.
